I like to smile when I join a new call
And here's why I do it
I used to think lawyers had to fit a mold.
Serious. Stern. All business, no smiles.
That’s how I thought I needed to show up.
But something didn’t feel right.
I’m not the guy who loves speaking in monotone.
I’m not here to be “just another lawyer” who people dread talking to.
So when I started my online journey, I decided to change that.
Now, every time I join a call, I remind myself of one thing: Smile.
Not because I’m faking it.
But because it sets the tone -for me and for the person on the other side.
And you know what? It’s worked.
People don’t just see me as a lawyer. They see someone they can trust.
Someone they can joke with, share their goals with, and feel comfortable around.
I’ve been told, “You’re so friendly for a lawyer.”
And honestly? That’s the best compliment I could ever get.
Because I’m not here to be intimidating.
I’m here to make “lawyer” a word you don’t feel weird about. Take Joon, for example.
We jumped on a call last week. He came in stressed, unsure about the next steps for his business.
By the end of it? He left with clarity, confidence, and a plan to move forward. Here's what he had to say about that.

It wasn’t just about fixing his immediate problem. It was about making sure he felt secure - protected for what’s next.
And that’s the kind of connection I aim for every time.
So, if you’ve been holding off on booking a call because “lawyers are too serious” or “it’s the end of the year”... Let’s change that.
